You might know this already but a womens stomach lacks a particular enzyme in the lining that men have, which is another reason men can drink more.

Do you get drunk just smelling alcohol by any chance Laurie LOL! :)

Cheers Shelton.

LOLz... Sorta... I don't drink much- naturally effervescent I guess. So I guess I do get drunk alot easier than people who drink alot.. plus I am 5'6" and 131... can't really be a heavyweight there either for metabolizing it.

I guess that post was just the nurse in me talking, usually I hush it up, but that one escaped. I really like science... it's a personality flaw...

:D
Laurie

HEheheheh, as long as you took it like the joke it was meant  Its often hard to work out peoples thoughts/emotions through a forum, you come across as infectiously (is that a word?) happy :D

Cheers Shelton.

People are always suprised by my husband's low tolerance for alchohol because he's such a big guy. He's 6ft and...at least 200lb....and I swear 2-3 beer and he's done. He doesn't drink often, so I guess he's never built up a tolerance. :occasion5:

LOL....I think I'm hearing that Laurie's posts are intoxicating! Your posts are enjoyable Laurie, you have a way of giving us a snapshot into your brain. You manage to do that AND be a wonderful asset to the forumn content. Thats a cool thing...most babbly people are all fluff no stuff! :love1:

Aww, no problem- I thought it was funny, actually!

Good to hear I actually add something to the board- sometimes when I am reading new posts I see something I wrote and wonder, omg LOL I totally wrote that  ... Like the Vulcan Mind Meld/Jedi Mind Trick post unde the full tank shots... :D

If you have gotta be infectious, I'd MUCH rather pass a smile... !!!

Well, at least you don't look like the Professor from the old Back to the Future movies...

lol!

I got told tonight that educated girls are too much work... LOL The guy had NO idea he was talking to a chick with three degrees, one of which a Master's degree. When he said it my husband busted out laughing in the next room...! Still not sure what to take from that...

After 3 mudslides I think I am just as much work as any other girl yes, but mainly to get my *slightly* drunk hinney back into the Dodge Ram more so than anything else... Have I ever told you guys how *high* that sucker is???

hehehe
Laurie

Lol, how tall are you Laurie? I'm 5ft tall, and just getting into my hubby's Durango is a challange...lol...after a few drinks even funnier.

Educated girls are too much work? LOL. The other day at work I un-screwed a really complicated Oracle script for a co-worker. He was in my cube and I was showing him what the problem was, and he said with genuine suprize, 'You really are smarter that you look.' I laughed and asked him what he ment, and he was a bit flustered, and he said, 'I just mean that usually girls that are really smart look....you know...' Giggle. So I said, 'What, I can't look good and have a brain too?' Snicker.

Thats okay though, I got new glasses yesterday and I love them, I'm channeling my inner geek. Giggle....I have a bumper sticker tac'd on my bullitan board at work that says, 'Chic Geek'. :love1:

:toothy7: You girls crack me up! Speaking of over-educated women, I certainly qualified but in addition to being over-educated, I'm also underpaid  It's been far too long since I was last drunk so I honestly can't remember what I'm like as a drunk other than to say that I'm a very happy drunk :)

Hahaha, I'm 5'6" and the hubby is an inch shorter than I in bare feet. However, he holds his alcohol MUCH better than I and so the task of shoving me into the truck fell to *him*. To his credit, he did it gracefully, lol.

Underpaid is a way of life at my house. Although lately I've been thinking of writing articles for submission to certain magazines (CA, etc) of interest for extra $$. Now, THAT is chic geek, when you can fund your hobbies with your mind instead of your burger flipping finesse...(And yes, I worked at Hardees in high school- was the cutest little Janet Jackson 'Control' headset in the drive thru window.. LOL Was a pic of it in my senior yearbook, so I can never deny it I guess.)

Hahaha, I love it when they look surprised... makes my day.

Tonight I was at Petco, and the LFS guy was kinda staring a bit, so when I left I looked right at him and waved at him and he dropped the stuff in his hands (pen, small pieces of paper, and a baggie) trying to wave back.

I thought it rocked, until I got 'The Look' from hubby... lol
