I'm very new to the hobby. I've had a tank for almost a week and a half. I have a Red Sea Reefer 425 G2. I feel my overflow is pretty loud and not full enough. No water how much (or how little) I adjust the main red valve, the water level never changes. Can someone look at my photos and see I'd I've done something wrong? Thanks.

It sounds like you didnt create a siphon within your overflow. This means water is flowing into your plumping with air instead of just water which makes it loud.

I would start by creating a siphon and getting the valve and pump on the same level

Thank you. I actually got it figured out. Didn't realize my valve was as open as it was. Got it cranked down and my return pump at about 50% open. Now everything is balanced and running quiet. Thank you again

At least you didn't put the overflow pipes on the wrong sides :grinning-face-with-sweat:. I didn't know the instructions were backwards when installing them so all of my water was draining down the emergency overflow without the valve adjustment.....
