Hello,

I need to increase flow through the split sump refugium area of my reefer 900. Water is not moving into that section fast enough and the water within that section is too still so cyano is taking over.

Any suggestions?

To increase the flow in my 3XL 900, I increase the return pump flow and open the drain valve farther. I am running two return pumps, one for each side of the tanks.

Put in a small powerhead if you are worried about cyano in a refugium.

Is your refugium on the right side Of the tank? I have two returns on max. It doesn’t really translate into increased flow on the right side where the Fuge area is.

I am using the right side sump as a frag tank. I have Chaeto in the Light Reactor on the right side of the frag tank. I put a wave pump (MP40) on the frag tank to keep the flow going.
