My weird 90 gallon named Reefer Madness was TOO weird, and the glass was blocking too much light from my already inadequate 4 bulb T5 fixture. I decided to transition to a 4 foot 120 gallon tank, and transfer all my hardware, sand, rock, and livestock over to that. I've also purchased 3 Noopsyche (sp?) lights with the brackets and a controller to move my lights into something more capable so that one day maybe I can have SPS corals. This thread is to chronicle this build out, which is much less involving than the previous one. Just some work on the stand, and putting new bulkheads in the tank. Should be fun. These pictures are in no particular order. Sorry about that.

I got the magnets on the sides, replacing the rusted snaps that were in place, and replaced the floor with some scrap plywood that was just about the right size. The doors are made of scrap plywood as well. My Noopsyche lights came in as well, so today was a productive day. All that's left for this stand is to paint it. The tank needs to have the bulkheads installed, and the bottom painted so my refugium light doesn't bleed through, then I'll have to design the plumbing, which should be simple.

The stand is just about done. I might have to make some minor adjustments once we get ready for the tank to go on. I've got my control wall in place, so this build should be much more self contained, and neat.

After stabbing myself at least once, and cutting myself with a drill bit, I have the tank nearly full, and wavemakers going. I need to move the subtrate around a bit, and get the rest of the frags into the tank, along with the fish. I have at least another day of working on this to finish up. I also got the control wall semi put together. Thanks to the local reefers that came through to help me.

Just about done. Getting the fish added right now. Corals go in tomorrow after I baseline this tank. I also have to get the refugium going again, so I'll either need to split off of the drain or add a small pump that just pushes water to the fuge.

PAR map for the new build. Are these good, or not so good numbers?

I think there may be an error. I am seeing "420" at each location. (Are you trying to tell us something secretively? Lol)

LOL! I corrected it. I forgot to plug the other numbers in. I should keep that one for later on next month.....

Odd that there is such a huge drop off from 420 to 150.

What are you planning on keeping in the tank?
