First off let me start with, I love building tank, its truly a passion of mine that i believe that we all share on here!!

Any Input you may have, tips, questions are all welcome!!

Im purchasing a 250g custom reef tank to be placed as my center piece in my home, this a dream tank of mine and after graduation paramedic school i decided to treat myself!!

The tank dimensions are 72x26x28, has a full hood and stand to go with that I'll be painting black.

I'm using all LEDs on this set up, similar to radions, hesitant at first with LEDs with growth but cost of electricity out weighs the headache of multiple chords, ballast and heat!!

I want a mp40 to run the circulation on this tank, looking for one, dont know if i want a new one just yet. I'd settle for a used one so if you see one used let me know.

So few questions I have or advice with this such tank......
#1. What size pump do you think, or even suggest one?
#2. Im thinking of running a bubble magus NAC9 on this, good enough?
#3. What Ca reactors do you suggest, thinking of one or possibly making my own?

Hey, that is awesome! Another Orlando reefer! I would suggest adding more then just one mp40 in a tank that size. I have a 120 gallon and have 2 mp40's. What kind of corals are you planning on putting in there?

I love monti, Acans etc but I love coral that move with the water movement, so rare torch, etc thats my style simple and easy with a SPS to top the rocks. But I'm gonna do prob 3 pillar look for aquascaping because I love Tangs so I want plenty of swimming room for them.

I'm def adding a Chevron and a Achilles tang once the tank is cycled. I have 80lbs of LR ready to go. I'm painting this weekend and hopefully adding water this time next week.

Here's a question at this time I don't have a skimmer I can use, the one I have is being used on my 65g(NAC6 Bubble Magus, they are all I buy) should I still add water without a skimmer or should I wait?

Ok for a idea of how big this beast is I'm 6'2" 265 and this things makes me feel tiny!!

Tank came plumbed but it was a little "outdated" for my taste so ill be re-plumbing it Monday and Tuesday as well as priming the stand then painting it black!!

Water is soon, I can taste it!!!

We have paint on now, a lot of hole patching and finish work then what I originally thought, so I've only got the stand sanded and painted waiting for the second coat.
