No worries man, I appreciate the offer. Being a firefighter, I'm working 24hr then off for 48hr, I love the scheduling and it enables me to have a lot of spare time

LOL, thats what its all about.. Start em early, that way when you want new stuff you can say well hunny the kids really want that new skimmer and lights... lol. A pair of arm floats when you fill it up would be hilarious. My son eye balls my tank i know he plotting on how to get in it. Thats cool man.

Ya man he loves it alread!!!

Hate to get side tracked here but recently I've discovered the art of using/making my own KALK, do you do this? With this large of tank wouldn't it be a good ideal, obviously testing my levels but typically won't a tank this size need it?

Ok slowly started making my aquascape, like I stated I'm doing more of a pillar type look adding some sweet shelf type rock I bought from wakeboardgeek, the guy made some sick rock guys!!!

But I need some input here....

As far as flow should I go with a mp60 or a mp40 with some Koralias? I've got two mag18 as my returns backed down as it is so my returns are a good source of flow.....thoughts?

Some thoughts .. i would get 2 tunze 6105 instead of an mp60. I had 2 mp40 on my 180 6'x2'x2' and the flow on those things arnt good for a long tank. Also flow through your sump should.only be 3-5x volume for maximum skimmer and filtration effeciency and it causes lots of.micro bubbles. So 1 mag 18 is plenty. I use a 1600gph return and it runs my biopellet reactor and carbon.

I've always done two returns just for added security purposes just my style I guess, I've got them backed down with ball valves

I'm assuming the Tunze are much cheaper as well, how much "wave" do they make? And maybe my inexperience with them but assuming they are adjustable?

I'm very new to the hobby, 8 weeks in, and I was told to use a gate valve, not a ball valve on my return. The pressure on the ball valve over time will cause it to fail.

Just thought I would share. Looks great so far, can't wait to see more pics!

Yes they are controlable. A friend has a 180 and just got 2 6105 and broke his frogspawn off the rock with the wave and had to turn it down

Ok I've been told I gotta update this thing since its been a while, sorry I apologize :/

I've finished my rock structure as you can see in the pic I love the open room for fish to swim, I love Tangs, and I love the pillar look.
I've added all the fish and most of the coral from my 65g tank that was up and running. I've had all my water parameters tested and the results where phenomenal I'm in awe of how quick the cycle process went for me but that's what close to 180lbs of LR will do for the cycle process.

My fish include so far:
1 Hippo Tang 2-3"
1 Fox Face 3"
1 Tomini 3"
1 Mimic Tang 3"
6 Chromis
2 Mated pair of Percs with Rainbow RBTA
1 Mandarin, yes I added Pods

I'm running Bio Pellets for a little but to see how I like them and I'm running ROWA in reactors....anyone ever run bio pellets with success?
