Received 3 of them today to replace 4 XR15 G5 Blues that have a laundry list of problems. Lights seem very well made, have some weight to them, power supply seems heavy and well made. I will update the thread once I figure out how to install them in the canopy. Here are a few photos on the packaging-

These ReeFi lights look real nice. What is the total wattage on a unit again? And what size footprint is the tank they are going on again?
Thanks and looking forward to your feedback with them.

Hello new friends
8D572D25-92A2-440E-B87C-D13B51142504.jpeg

one critique is the power cord should run from the light, to a disconnect, then power supply . I will have to run the power once the canopy is installed
I’m too familiar with these lights, but I’m just curious the way you mounted them in the canopy. From the picture the lights are slightly raised on one side for the fans to vent the hot air from the units. Would that be enough room for the lights to run without over heating them?

The lights are actually on hangars using stainless eye hooks and stainless latches. I can actually remove the lights without removing the canopy. The wife will not have a tank without a canopy so I have no choice but to make it work. I’ll get a pic one the lights come on.

Best option I could come up with, puts the lights 6.5” off the water. This was the only place to put them to keep them centered with breathing room. I can slide the canopy back 5 inches to give some room for maintenance task

Can´t you drill some holes in the canopy where the fans are?
Just my opinion.
And before you do, the latest led tests with multiple units by BRS indicate that you may be better to move the first and third units some inches further from the central one in order to achieve a better distribution of par along the tank.

No, in the mounting holes will place the lights too far back due to the piano hinge. I could drill holes for the fans, going to see how it goes and address from there. I do agree on the spread, canopy is a pain in the butt.

I just commented because I think I have read in reefi web site that a closed canopy is a no no...
"Warning: Fan exhaust must be allow to be blown away from the unit or to ensure cool ambient air is being drawn into the fan intake. Do not place inside enclosed canopy. "

Dan went over the setup with me prior to purchasing. The whole back is open, we will see how it does today and will drill some holes if needed. The fans on the radions barely ever ran and the house stays at a constant 70*. Thanks for the valid point!
