A reef is a reef...or is it? Some of us have our niche that we like to incorporate into our reefs to make them more personal to us and exactly like we want them. In a way, it then becomes a way to express ourselves. Maybe it's a color scheme, only housing a particular type of life, or adding aspects of artificial decor to tie your system together!

Yeah, we have a theme. It is called the algae theme. You guys should try it sometime.

I wouldn’t say it’s a theme, but I do have sections for coral “gardens” in my tank. I have separate islands for torches, hammers, , zoas, acans, clove polyps. I will eventually add two for cespitulara and Rhodactis mushrooms. Some of the islands do have random corals on them, but are predominantly occupied by specific species of corals.

Here are some pictures. I just upgraded from a much smaller tank, so this tank looks empty!

Beautiful! You've got some very vibrant patches of coralline algae coming in.

I'm working on establishing my theme, trying to emulate a mangrove estuary, but I'm waiting on my mangroves to grow out before I move them to the tank.
Thought I'd elaborate on this more, a lot of people bury their mangroves roots in the sand, I have nothing against that method but I'm looking to get those large stilt roots to grow corals on.

That would look amazing. Such a unique idea.

My theme is crippling depression
