Bummer. I thought that thing would be great if it worked well.

That said, I’ve read countless reviews about the Trident drifting over time and being unreliable. Several guys on my other forum said “oh no mine is good, it hasn’t drifted.” Funny thing was that one guy mentioned he had his rebuilt, and that it’s very accurate again, and they ALL INQUIRED about where he had this done at and how much it costs which basically tells me everything I need to know about their units.

Recently I’ve been working with a newbie reefer to get his tank setup better and dialed in. I’ve been watching the data on his Trident and it seems to be fairly accurate as far as I can tell. His tank has been up about 6 months so I’m assuming his trident is about that old, but not sure.

I wish they would allow you to select the same type of test for multiple vial locations. I have two reef bots, one bot runs only alkalinity tests and one bot runs all other test types. I would like to program each vial on the alkalinity tester, or at least half of them, to run a Red Sea alkalinity test. This way I could cross reference test results from different Red Sea test kits while extending refill times and performing more tests daily.
