the inside end still attaches to the glass and does not float away like in the pic. This scraper is designed for glass thickness 0.8" to 1".
That's exactly what I wanted to know. I've got the flipper max rated up to 1". The inside piece doesn't hold very well. If I clean the glass at a normal pace, it will come apart. I have to go very VERY slow for it not to come off.

I see...you should not have that problem with Tunze scraper

Its day 10 and Ammonia continues to check in at 0 and nitrate ranges between 5 and 10 daily. Last week I moved a baby "Tomini" tang from my Reefer 250 to 750 sump. He's only about 1" but a big eater. He snacks all sort of frozen food: mysis, baby brine shrimp, blood worm...and nori.

And today...buttterfly is in the house. Meet "Butter" my new copperband butterfly, a beautiful fish I have wanted for a while but had no room in 250. This guy loves mysis shrimp and he would chase after them every time I feed him.
1640738185839.png

Regal 250-INT has been running for 3 days as well. Making lots of bubbles and pulling out yellow-ish skimmage. I used 3 different skimmers from Bubble Margus, Skimz Monster and Eshopps for Reefer 250 but this Regal seems to be most quiet and broke in within hours.

1640738283249.png

No light so far as I have not installed Radion G5 Blue yet as I plan to keep tank dark for first 4 months to skip ugly phase (BRS recommended). The blue light in some of the pic is from Kessil A360X of nearby Reefer 250. Tomorrow is Apex setup, stay tuned for more updates fellow reefers

Sorry for the late update. I know it's overdue. I was busy with...live sales :)
So far I have installed Apex EL, energy bar, 1 DOS, Trident and display module. All are working well I think. I am new to Apex so I am still learning. pH looks stable for last 7 days.
1643824038729.png

Here's are readings from Trident. All are in expected range. I have been running Avast K1 stirrer with BRS Kalkwasser for 2 weeks dosing 500ml/day and Alk is a bit low ~7.8. So I took K1 stirrer offline and started dosing Alk only (note a boost in Alk in below chart). I'll try to get Alk stable at 8.2~8.3. Once I started adding corals I'll bring K1 back on.
1643824289478.png

Here's a pic of equipments under cabinet and yes the wirings and adaptors are getting out of controls. I need to do better job on wiring/cable management once I confirm equipments are running well. I raised K1 using one of the coral shipping box :) and let gravity feed Kalkwasser into the sump. This seems to work well.
Pax Bellum chaeto reactor is also online for about 3 weeks. I'll post some pic of chaeoto growth when I harvest them this weekend.
Livestock wise I have added quite a lot past 3 weeks: blue tang, yellow tang, gem tang, purple tang, blond naso tang, chocolate tang, sailfish tang and a yellow coris wrasse. To my surprise they are getting along nicely...less headache and stress as I am working to install and test out more equipments.

1643827526781.png

Keep monitoring ammonia daily and even with that many fish ammonia still checks in at 0 :). I continue to dose 40ml of MicroBacter7 bacteria daily. Love this product!

For ATO instead of the stock 7.5gal RS reservoir sitting above the sump I am going with IM Auqa Gadget 15gal as I dont want to refill too often. I hide it on the right side of tank

1643905740709.png

This unit has a pull out drawer which makes it easy to refill. Currently I set my tank temp @78F and I need to refill this reservoir every 7-8 days.
1643906029333.png

My ClearView Pisces lid arrived 2 weeks ago much earlier than I expected. As a return customer Clearview did expedit my order and they were very prompt in email response. This is a 2-piece lid design to prevent bowing in the middle and also reduce shipping cost. So far I have checked fittings for 2 Radion RMS mount, Inkbird temp probe, BRS 600W heater cord and everything fit perfectly. Still need to check fitting for 3rd Radion RMS and 2 Kessil mounts next.
1643907333581.png

1643907419150.png

Besides the lids I also ordered 2 insert kits to keep tank warm and fight excessive evaporation. The insert kit collects moisture evap and rains it right back into the tank. It can be easily removed if more air exchange is needed. It looks like 15gal ATO reservoir can now last up 15 days thanks to insert kit.

I ran into problem with Red Sea Slideout control panel installation thats why my DOS dosing pump is currently sitting on top of ATO reservoir. RS assembly instruction was not useful and surprisingly I could not find any good video on youtube. I need to start a thread on R2R to get some help.

I harvested chaeto over the weekend and found it has grown 2~3x the size over 3 weeks (13 hrs/day). This is not obvious from the pic but chaeto definitely got a lot thicker compared to when I first added to the reactor. The grow however is still a lot slower than I would expect as my nutrient level is still quite high nitrate 50, phosphate 0.27. I used one-gallon container to quickly measure flow rate. It took 35s to fill the container so flow rate is ~102GPH vs recommended flow rate 200-400GPH for Arid 24 reactor. Look like Sicce 1.0 pump (251GPH) I am currently using is not gonna get me anywhere near recommended range so I will be switching to Sicce 3.5 (660GPH) this week and see if there is improvement on chaeoto growth and nutrient control.

After 2 weeks of planning, plumbing, patching leak and multiple rounds of leak testing I finally finished UV sterilizer installation. It has been running smoothly for 3 days without leaking. I used Home Depot 1" PVC pipe, 5 sets of unions, elbow fittings and BRS adapter spigot x barb, Kuri-tec vinyl tubing and 1" ratchet clamps to put everything together.
I decided to install UV sterilizer on the right side of the tank rather than in sump to make it easy for maintenance of quartz sleeve and UV lamp replacement. I installed it vertically to prevent trapped bubble and clamped sterilizer body to the wall using Neat Aquatics mounting clamps.

Currently I utilize 2 Sicce return pumps. Sicce Syncra 9.0 is plumped to UV Inlet and UV Outlet to Left Return line. Sicce Syncra 7.0 is plumped directly to Right Return line.
1645405595199.png

Initially I planned to install Neptune FMK to monitor the flow through UV sterilizer but after reading all bad reviews on BRS website I decided to just measure the flow manually. Currently I have both return pumps running at 81% capacity. For Algea control Pentair Aquatics recommends 934GPH. In order to meet this target I would need to crank up Syncra 9.0 to 100% capacity. This is a serious loss of flow output due to head pressure given Syncra 9.0 maximum output is 2500GPH. Anyway I am reluctant to run at 100% as the pump starts making loud humming noise and potentially shorten pump life time. So at 81% capacity I used 1-gal container to measure the flow and got 500~550GPH. Let's see how this can keep algae in check and how often I need to clean the glass.

I finally finished installation for all equipments. Middle Radion G5 Blue is now online and all 3 are currently running @15% intensity with AB+ spectrum. I will crank up intensity slowly to prevent algae bloom.

Wavemakers: I have 2 MP40 one on each side of the back glass and 1 MP60 on the side glass. I replaced MP40 original covers with Neat Aquatics Limpet wide flow and MP60 with Wavemaker Guards NemProtect to protect my inhabitants. These powerheads can put out some serious flow.

RedSea Slide-Out with 2 DOS: Currently use 1 DOS for dkH and Mag dosing. 2nd DOS reserved for CoralAmino and Iron+Manganese supplements.

Really interesting! I’m running 2x Syncra 9.0 pumps and on my initial testing I found that somewhere around 55-65% the overflow can’t keep up even with the primary drain wide open. The emergency overflow was completely submerged. So now I’m running them about 24% each to try and find a flow/noise balance.

It may be worth checking if something is restricting flow in your primary drain or plumbing. Try to remove R42320 (I think it's called silencer) and see if you can get higher flow rate. Maybe there was a mistake in the installation of R42320 that limits the flow through primary drain.
1646240357233.png
Did you try to manually measure flow rate for each return line? I am curious to see what you get. Recommended flow for 750 is 1850gph per BRS and I think RedSea recommendation is even higher ~2400gph if I remember correctly. If you are running 2 Syncra 9.0 at 55-65% capacity then total gph should be close to 2500 not counting head pressure loss. With head pressure loss my guess is you would only get 1200~1500gph.

Hmmm, good point. Looking at the performance chart I’d say max is 2,000 GPH at 1.4m head height. So yeah, 2 at 50% is only 2,000 GPH total. I’ll have to try testing again this weekend. I actually did install the primary and secondary return pipes backwards the first time because Red Sea flips the picture all of a sudden in the directions! The silencer though just seems to just sit in there so I’m not sure how I could have done that wrong.

Maybe you have a piece of styrofoam stuck somewhere in the plumbing :) who know. Just another hypothesis. Let us know how it goes this weekend.
You are not alone in this. I made the same mistake swapping primary and emergency pipes during installation thanks to RedSea "very clear" instructions. I tried to swap them back but one of the pipes is hard stuck. I have 2 big windows right behind the tank so I have good access to the backside but even that I could not remove the stuck pipe myself. So I am thinking of following options:
1. Hire LFS to try swapping the pipes. This is what RedSea recommended.
2. Redo plumbing in the sump which would require sanding RedSea metric pipe to fit stock pipe from Home Depot
Anyway this is not urgent as the system is running well as is. I will wait until RedSea ReefMat come out and see if any other plumbing or sump modification is needed and do it at the same time.
