Going to mount a reefmat into a waterbox marine x 110.4 sump. Wondering if my best course of action is to just remove these 2 highlighted partitions so the whole left side is one large section? I'd hang the reefmat on the side and also have my skimmer, heater and whatever else I end up needing in there. Anyone mounted a reefmat into a waterbox sump and have any other ideas for me? Thanks!

what's the top skinny chamber for? Hard to tell how the water flows in that portion. You probably just need to remove this, circled in red:

That skinny section in back is where the main and emergency drains dump into. I think if I leave them the water in there will get stagnant. Really no reason to leave that part since the main drain will dump into the reefmat

I couldn't fit my reefmat in that area you indicated. I just placed it under the return pipes and plumbed it to the return. I use that area now for zeovit (back filter sock), ceramic blocks and refugium (front filter sock).

Hello I just picked up a 110 and thinking about running the reef mat. Did you end up removing the 2 highlighted panels? Thanks

Yup, I ended up taking out everything on the left side in that pic so i basically just have one huge chamber there for the reefmat and skimmer/heater, etc. Have been running this way for a few months and it seems to be working great.

Do you have any info on the fittings used? I have same sump. I’m trying to plum a reefmat 500.

Thanks in advance!

I was able to use the fittings that came with the reefmat kit. There's one that fits the main overflow tube perfectly and then attaches to the reefmat flex tubing
