Hey all,

I was wondering if expired reefroids or other powder coral food could expire and become toxic to corals? I just recently had a few euphyllia polyp bail and didn't know if this was the cause.

What is everyones experience with this?

Thanks

I have and still use roids and Chili over two years old with no negative consequences. No expiration listed on the containers. I keep in the fridge....

I used some expired Hikari coral food powder. It didn't look bad but did have a stronger fishy smell. Well 2 blastos and a chalice died from what seemed to be a bacterial infection. Revive dipped other blastos and they recovered. Could be coincidence, but ill be following those dates from now on.

Not sure how dried food would actually spoil to the point it would make you sick if you ate it.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
