Rocks are now soaking in saltwater with some rocks from my 110gal.

More good news. Insurance is covering the bike. It's a not at fault accident so I will be putting humpty back together real soon!

So....
I had gear on. Just not enough.

I had my Icon Stryker vest on along with my riding jeans (kevlar), gloves, boots and helmet.
Unfortunately, nothing on my arms.
At least I did not pass out from heat exhaustion while wearing my leathers in 98 degree weather.

Hi...

I've been noticing a lot of people that own Reef tanks also own motorcycles.
I thought I was the only one.

It's funny because we manage to find time for family, work, RIDING, maintaining and enjoying our reef tanks.

If you ride and reef, Please share your passions in this thread.
Both the bike and the reef.

I know that I am as passionate about my bike as I am about my reef.
Both are expensive to maintain and even more expensive to upgrade but we seem to manage to pull it off.

Let us know how you manage it all...

How do you like the Nexx helmet?
I've considered it but have not seen one in person. I have the Shoei X14.
How would the Nexx compare?

Now for the bad news.

Went into a traffic circle. (I hate traffic circles).
The was a LARGE oil spill all around the circle.
I hit it and swooooop... out goes the bike.

Im fine (for the most part) but my baby looks like it had a fight with a thousand cats.

See where I went down?
See the green of my baby in the black oil?

Glad it wasn’t more serious. Stay safe.

To bad because motorcycle rides remind me of the freedom and sensation of flight. Quite relaxing and invigorating at the same time. Both watching aquariums and riding provide relaxation for me. Anyone else experience something like this?

By the way good riders manage risk quite well.

Life is not risk averse in anyway shape or form. Life is managing risks just like the management of risks is necessary to have a successful reef tank.

I agree, I say more "calculated risk". But as careful I was hit less than a mile from my house, luckily I was in full gear. Unfortunately you can't predict the actions of others.

Can't find the windshield damage to my back but its not pretty.

Im sorry you are going through that.
We do our best to predict others actions but sometimes the stupidity of others wins the day.

Im glad you are (relatively) ok.

What happened?

You guys are going to get me in trouble, I haven't had a bike since I sold my GSXR when I got engaged and seeing all these has me itching again. Been riding since I was young, raced Motocross in the 80's and early 90's in the open class with a Honda CR500. I've had my share of injuries, multiple sprained ankles, broken elbow and collar bone, but I loved racing and was upstate every weekend at the races. When I stopped racing I bought a GSXR and rode that until I got engaged and sold it.

My GSXR with realistic flames I painted.
