Hi. I have a RS reefer 525xl. 5ftx2ftx2ft 139 gallons. Im currently using 2 maxspect f350x gyre. One of them having issues and im getting tired of the problems they've been causing. I wanna change out my flow pumps. What do you guys suggest? Should i go with 2 reefwaves and which models. Or should i go with mp40 and how many? Placement for these pumps? Attached is a pic of how my tank looks. Please help anyway you can. Any suggestions or input is appreciated thanks.

MP40s/10/60s are tried and tested, hence i'll recommend those. Gyres are heavy on maintenance hence even though they have better flow, I don't prefer them.

Never had MPs. I do like my ReefWave 45s
+ 1 here.

I have two 45's on the back wall. Was cleaning about every three weeks, then purchased flow directors which are preventing light from hitting the impellers...thus preventing algae build up. Currently, I'm at one month since the last cleaning and they still look good. I am very impressed with the flow I get. Note that the tank is bare bottom though and these would certainly blow sand around...even at 65%.

Ordered off of Ebay. They came from the UK and were not cheap...around $90 all in.

Don’t have a link to these flow directors? TIA.

Edit… my bad. I see them now.
