Hi every body

First time posting hope every body is doing fine. I'm having a bit if trouble with try to make enough salt water for my 170L aquarium as I don't have room for a storage tank of the size what are the possible ways around this

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Kind regards Andy

Is this for an initial fill?

You could theoretically send water directly into the aquarium and mix your saltwater in there then add the sand and rock. Not ideal since people generally recommend mixing in a container but this may be less annoying than mixing small batches. Another alternative is to buy RODI in 5 gallon jugs from you LFS for the initial fill.

If you can get a brute trash can and dolly and fill it up, mix in the salt and continue to do that until the tank is filled. This what I did with a 44 gallon brute. My rodi is a ways away from my tank. If it was closer, i would have used the approach mentioned above. I used dry rock and sand so I was able to put that in the tank first.

Than you for the comment
I have just brought a brute trash can 165L
With a dolly a lid now I just need to find somewhere to store it.

Just fill it in stages. Mix what you can, add to the tank, then make more RODI and mix that... It's only 40 gallons, it shouldn't take very long to filter the second batch of water.
