Hello guys I am about to setup a brand new 100g reef tank.....it better to run filter socks for a while?....or just go ahead and run the reef factory roller m from day one?

I don't want to clean socks I want to run a filter roller...should I wait a few months to add one....or just add one day 1
I see your point. I wouldn’t run it to start. Don’t run a skimmer either. You should start cycling your tank. There are many ways to do this. Essentially you are building up the bacteria that keep your system healthy. Filter socks, fleece rollers, and skimmers would reduce the bacteria.

Reef rollers are a game changer, use it as soon as you can and you will never look back, I use the Bubble Magus Filter Roll on my saltwater and freshwater thanks and they do a great job, I even think they work better on freshwater tanks, for they provide lots of brown roll and keep the tank water real clear with less water changes.
