Put the Chaeto in and started running the light a couple weeks ago. The Chaeto seems OK and may have grown some. Is all the other algae normal ? Should I do anything or let it go ? I do have Pods coming in a day or so. Will they eat any of this ? Thanks

As long a it's a good kind of algae, ie...GHA, then let it be in the sump. If it's growing there absorbing excess nutrients, then at least it's not in your main tank. You might have to intervene if the algae takes over your chaeto, though.

provided there are nutrients, its almost inevitable that it grows in your refugium especially when the chaeto is small and light is spilling below. I kinda always felt I could live with algae where I'm actually trying to grow it rather than up in the display where I'm definitely not.

Thanks for the replies. The DT has some brown starting with specs of green but only on the rocks and sand. Probably because it doesn't have the same lighting.
