20G Red Sea max Nano AIO tank is currently 4 months old and is still going through ugly brown algae phase. I am currently using brightwells xport no3 and biocubes to keep nitrite and nitrates under control, as the tank is overstocked. Fish seem happy and healthy, and water parameters seem fine. The only issue is brown algae, but it’s as expected as it’s a new tank.

I want to add CPR aquafuge 2 HOB refugium and grow macro algae and sexy shrimp, but I’m afraid this may be overkill and there won’t be enough nutrients in the tank for coral.
If I add the refugium, should I remove the Xport NO3?

thoughts?
