;Jawdrop Oh no! Sorry to hear that. You could possibly get some Weldon to repair it. I think that might be the only way to fix it and have it be strong enough. Either that or contact Reef Octopus and see if they will sell you just the body. I never take the pump off before lifting it out of the sump and haven't had an issue but I guess I should rethink that. Bummer.

Ya I emailed them but ya would be good practice to take off the pump.
I'll let you know what they say tomorrow and what it will cost me.
For a connection like that really sould be a separate peice for when this happens.

You would think it would be. (a separate piece) I'm interested in what they say.

There's one last thing you need to address on the sump. You'll need to figure a way to keep the macro algae (chaeto?) from flowing out of the fuge area. Some kind of screen or foam? Otherwise it'll just go right on through to the next chamber and jam up your pumps or worse get chopped up and distributed throughout the tank.

Ya I have foam blocks.
Well I know when things broke before from coralvue all they ever asked for was the receipt and they replaced it but never had something like in this price range or something I broke. Lol
Would really suck if I have to buy a totally new one

Really there is not. Best thing to do is unscrew it all the time. With looking at it I did this without trying very hard using a small peice from my water change hose. Its a pretty tight fit. It is only water going thru and it will be in the water so I feel somewhat better lol

Looks like you have a workaround if you're stuck with it for a while. Just a little fyi, the clear outlet goes on the other way around. The end with the small hole should go into the valve body so it's on top. Probably doesn't matter much though. :)

So they called me and said they only had the SSS version in stock. Thats the one where the pump goes on the inside and if I would want that one.
I said ok and they sent it. I think I have a choice now to where if in the future I want to add a small reactor or something I can switch skimmer bodies and have a way smaller foot print.
Received it quickly and am very happy with CV.
GREAT customer service

That's nice to hear, and options! :D I'm pretty happy with mine. Pulls gunk like mad. I have to empty it every couple days at the setting I mentioned. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

I was wondering that the other day myself. The bottom one is for the float switch but I don't know what the other 2 are for.
