I've had this captive bred regal for over 3 years. 3-4 weeks ago he stopped eating and I noticed the redness around his fins. I put it into an established at tank and treated with prazipro and kanaplex. He still refuses to eat, continuing to approach and show interest in food but then turning away. He is reclusive but besides that his swimming and behavior is normal. I'm looking for a diagnosis or next treatment.

You weren’t able to coincide any change in the tank it hit stopping eating?

Was then stoppage sudden, overnight, or did it gradually go off feed?

The interest in food, but not eating is a unique symptom - seen in injuries and intestinal blockages. When fish go off feed because of illness they FEEL sick and show no interest in food…..

In the future , avoid taking fish out of water and especially placing in a towel which can remove its protective slime coat. Also do not mix kanaplex with any meds other than chelated copper.
Is fish breathing normal or labored?
Agree also on bloating which may be of concern , but can be constipation
