Does anyone have experience with pairing regals or have a regal pair? I'm curious about how to pair them, how to differentiate between male and female, and what your experiences were.

Regal angels are protogynous hermaphrodites. I keep several pairs in the past, all I did was to either pair an adult with a juvenile or else place two juveniles together, you will get a pair. Mine has always been pair with fairly close affinity to each other. Recently, another reefer told me that Regal angel has been documented to have harem reproductive structure with one male documented to reproduce with as many as 4 females. I have not spent time to search to confirm this yet.
I keep harem of dwarf angels but never try to keep harem of Regal angels (only pairs).

May I ask have you found that Indian/Pacific ocean pairs as readily as an Indian/Indian or pacific/pacific or is there no difference?

They pair readily. Right now I have a blue chest/Yellow chest hybrid and a Yellow chest. They seem to pair easy too although I don’t have a pair yet. There are still some agressive between the two. When they paired there will be no aggressions whatsoever.
