So far I've had no problem with these guys at all, but before I allow them into my upgrade I need to make sure this pile of bristles are all the usual detritivore type.

As a side note, I grabbed a couple of these without thinking...it thankfully didn't hurt with these particular ones. Just tingles a little.

Hard to tell with em all bunched up, but yea, they look like the normal type, not the Fireworms.

Yeah, they're kind of a pale pink rather than red.

Now to figure out how to keep 'em happy in their little bottle until I move them tomorrow. :) I'm cleaning and reseeding my rock with this tank move, so I gotta keep them out of the rock I haven't cleaned yet.

I know they are beneficial, but your not going to kill them all. Some will survive, I'd just chuck those.

I don't see any reason to...they haven't done anything to me. :) Didn't even sting (though I suppose I did grab most of them with the tweezers, lol!)

Most will get nuked by the vinegar bath, so I'm pulling out and saving what I can before dropping the rock in the bath.

I'm spacing things out carefully, BTW, so I don't leave my fishies without a cycle. :) Gonna scoot the 50 over, put the new tank in its place with the cleaned dried rock (which will be about half the rock in this tank,) and keep the 50 in-use with the other half of the rock until I can get the new 100 cycled. Then, I'll move the animals incrementally into the 100, and once the last one's out I'll remove, clean, and reuse the last of the rock from the 50. Not sure what to do about the sand yet.

Of course, all this requires getting over my stomach flu so I can go get the 100g in the first place.

Glad to see you're not going to kill them. I never quite understood why people kill them. It'd be like killing a snail or a hermit crab.

I think some people find them creepy...and there's really not a resource out that defines what the good worms look like versus the bad ones, so...
