Good day everyone!
This thread will replace my old build thread, since i just upgraded my tank and for me, its a new tank :) even though the inhabitants and most of the equipment is still the same.
So i got the help of 4 friends, we emptied out the old 425L tank into a dog pool in our living room, dismantled the old one and moved the new 540L tank into position.
All in all took about 20 hours, excluding building the new tank and stand.
The Upgrade went well, no losses in fish or corals. Only problem we got, i didnt have enough water ready. I bought an extra 120L from my LFS, and made a fresh batch of 60L myself, but in the end i was short about 100L. We had to throw some of the old water away because it was too dirty, but well, everything worked out.
My wife helped me a lot with the aquascape, and we were quite limited as alot of the corals already grown onto the rocks.
We reused all of the old equipment, except the ATO which we replaced with a new one (just because there was a free new one with the tank) and we added another light, a red sea reefled g2 115. The new light is in the middle and the 2 old ones on the side. Still acclimating for the new light, which currently runs on 70% power.
And now, without further ado, a FTS!
Now we are thinking what new additions we can get. I think with corals we are quite set, for fishes we are eyeing maybe a one spot foxface or a type of tang, maybe a pair of banggai cardinals or maybe some mandarinfish:)
