Good evening all! I'm starting to get ready to have fish back in my life. I had a room stripped of carpet, tile and mastic.
Unfortunately, the guy I hired isn't aware of the power of Google and used paint thinner to try to remove the mastic underlayment. It smelled and I had to scrub the floor with mineral spirits and now I'm painting
Rooms 11x10.

I'm wondering if what equipment I have in the house, will be at risk for some sort of chemical exposure? Sump and stand are in the basement along with 120lbs of Marko waitingto get wet to cure. Rodi in basement as well.Tank is covered in the garage, where we "carry on!"
I've cleaned and primed the room, with the help of my daughter, finish coat and ocean blue epoxy floor to come!
I'm curious to see if I'm the only one wondering if this is gonna be an issue w/ cycling and long term success of the tank? The smell of paint thinner was enough for me but I wonder how that will settle on surfaces, if at all?
Hate to waste thread space but I've gotta ask!

Very unlikely that it would cause any issues. In the past I've applied concrete sealer literally in the room that had my tank with fish and corals. Smelled like acetone for weeks and the tank was completely unaffected.

I've never heard of solvents precipitating after gassing out.

Floor came out ok. Had a few snafus. The propane tank doesn't work upside down, so there's some bubbles in it. All in all I'm happy and everything is up and running now.
