I have a used CPR Overflow which I am re-using.

It was siliconed to my old tank and I have removed it.

However, there is a lot of silicone residue left on the acrylic.

What's the best way to remove the residue and clean it up so I can silicone it to my new tank?

I have lacquer thinner and mineral spirits. Will they damage the acrylic?

Yep both of those will damage the acrylic. Soap and water are as strong as you should go. Maybe a vinigar and water soak but nothing else. Just try to peel the silicone off as it does not actually bond to the acrylic.
