I currently have the RDCS 250EXT with the original Diablo DC-5500S pump.

Pump has died and I know a few other folks locally that have had this pump die for them as well.
I contacted coralvue and they wont replace as the warranty has expired. But recommended this pump.

http://www.coralvue.com/varios-6s-controllable-skimmer-pump with an adaptor kit.

I really would like something made by a different company as I'm starting to see that coralvue pumps are junk.

Any suggestions on a pump that would work with this skimmer? Thanks in advance.

Will the Sicce pumps they offer as an option on other Octopus skimmers do the trick? They're not DC...

Have a Bubble Blaster HY-3000 on my SRO 3000 int and I'm not too happy about having to plug and unplug the pump until it restarts after skimmer maintenance.
CoralVue, if you're reading, what's your take on this?

CoralVue is telling me no other pump will work. But this new pump of theirs is even worse. 20 more watts and less air intake then the previous one?

Max Power Consumption: 70 watts
Max Air Draw: 2000 L/H (70 SCFH)*

Gotta be another option out there...
