Replacing hob skimmer pump. Suggestions

My hob SWC skimmer has a poor pump. Gets really warm and after a week or so it starts turning on and off like an overheat or something.

Any suggestions on what to get. Help is appreciated :)

I just replaced with a e-bay pump, did a mesh mod on the impellar, and works great.

So you saying I could just as easily use a regular pump with mesh modifying? Hm.

Yup, Im using that pump on my CoralifeSupeSkimmer220, modified with mesh, works much better than the stock pump.

Sick. I'm going to try one out today. I have a few ugly circulation pumps for freshwater. I'm gonna see what I can do.

Right on. I jus tuse the mesh from e-bay, nothing fancy on it, and superglued it to the impeller. The impeller you'll have to cut up a bit for the mesh to fit.
