Replacing some rock??

I have always loved the tanks with the random strange looking islands or rock structures... so I am going to go for that look I think...

So I plan on keeping maybe 1/3 of my established rock.. removing the rest and adding back maybe 15-20 pounds of dry, new, man made rock...

Would I be OK just removing the established rock and placing some in my sump? Adding the new dry rock and watching levels?

Or would it be a better idea to cure the rock in a tub and use water change water from my tank for several weeks?? Maybe seed with a piece from my tank??

If I cure rock what is needed?? Powerhead, heater, seed rock and let it roll???

Yea, you can throw established rock in the sump, and new rock in the DT. If its just dry rock, you should not see a spike, as it won't have any die off on it. Also if you added a few lbs at a time to cure this too would keep your levels normal also.
Curing Live Rock, just need a tub, heater and power head. Throw in a jumbo shrimp form the grocery store and your off and running.
