Why hard plumb your return when you can do this. Seems a lot easier to setup and maintain.

Thoughts and opinions are welcome. Trying to figure out how to do my return.

Perosnaly I have both soft from tank for about 1ft then hard inside cabinet

Was ment to all soft but it gets brittle after time so mixed it for safety from leaks inside the sump aria

IDK. The picture shows the builder made a really nice drain setup with colored pvc and ( assuming) schedule 80 fittings for the color. Then did a cheesy return with tubing. Just kind of ruined the effect, IMO.

You can do the same with ultxa flex pvc tubing as most soft plumbing. It glues just like other PVC pipe, but is much more flexible than spa flex. Since you don't need a bunch of 90 degree fittings to will flow much better too. I have drive a truck with 200 gsllons of water in the back over ultra flex and it barely affected it. Standard PVC would have shattered.

Do you have a link to a place you would recommend buying the Ultra Flex from?

I have both. Hard plumbing was going to stick out more behind my tank the way my DIY set up is. 90 barbs to vinyl to hard barb and pvc under the tank at the sump.

Soft is better for flow, no 90s and easy bends. The T in the return would be marginally better as a Y for flow.

I'd vote hard down to the pump, then a short section of silicone to reduce noise. I like the clean look of hard and dislike hose clamps.
