Hello! I am setting up a 40 gallon breeder reef tank. I am trying to find a DC return pump and compatible UPS. My returns are 1/2” and my drain line is 1”. Any recs?!

Yes drain line goes into the sump which will be in a stand underneath the tank .Drain line goes into sump?
I am newbie here, so please correct me if this is overkill . I want quietest pump possible ( tank is in same room with my home theatre setup )and also want compatibility with a UPS as I live in Florida and power outages are uncommon but one outage for a couple of days while I’m out of town could crash the tank .sicce makes a nice, reliable, reasonably quiet a/c return pump.
as far as i know, you're limited to a/c pumps. d/c pumps are definitely quieter but generally push more water and none that i can think of would be suitable for a 40 gallon.I am newbie here, so please correct me if this is overkill . DC pumps are controllable but the majority of them are not apt for smaller systems and as i mentioned, i'm not aware of the smaller ones. if you are, advise awayNot sure I follow. DC pumps are controllable. My tunze 1073.050 at 290-790 at zero head height. 24vdc though and compatible with the safety connector battery back up. Although the whole 24vdc on a 12v battery I hear severely limits head height.
That’s a good idea , but my other purpose for DC is the low noise vs an AC. Can I find an AC pump running as quiet as DC ?I think that 1073.050 I mentioned would work but it might be easier to rely on an AC return and some DC power heads and keep the power heads on with battery back up if the goal is just to circulate water in the tank. Would probably run longer too.
I have a Sicce Syncra SDC 3.0 on order flow is rated at 260 - 800 gph.
On another thread it was said that they could be turned down more also at least for the larger models.
I am complete ovice btw so I have been scouring youtube and the forums on f
what size you have ?
My mistake I meant what size (ie how many gallons) is your tank?!I have a 3.0 on order

I have a 100 gallon tank but the Sicce pump is for my media reactors.
