Hi

I am trying to change my small sump ( 6 gallon ) for 50 gallon cube to a 30 gallon DIY sump. I am trying to calculate the return pump and match the skimmer pump.

I have total volume of 50 gallon Display + 20/30 gallon sump
I calculated about 7 x 90 degree elbow,
4 foot lifting vertical height
4 foot horizontal pipe

And the skimmer is NYOS 120 with Quamtum 1 pump ( but i cannot find the spec )

Can you help me what's the flow rate that would be required ? Is the Neptune COR 15 sufficient ?

I’m not a plumber. But I’ve consistently read that each 90 degree elbow is 1’ of head loss. So roughly speaking you would have 4’ vertical + 7’ turns and ignore 4’ of horizontal gets you to 11’ if head loss. The Cor is rated for 14’ so I’m guessing your flow would be around 300 or less

Thanks! Just wondering if I should be adding 50 Gallon and 30 gallon for the actual water 80 gallon ? So 400 would make that roughly 5 times , and I need something to deliver the 400+ if I add couple reactors too?
