Return pumps for sump

I know you need a return pump to put water back in the tank and a separate tube where the water from the main tank gets drained into the sump. I was wondering, instead of drilling my tank can I use a return pump on both sides to drain and put water back?

No, you would have to match the output of both pumps perfectly. This would create a far more complex system than you would want.

It's because I don't have a drill and I was wondering if there was anyway to get the water down to the sump. I know the overflow boxes work, but I wanted to know if there was any other way besides drilling it.

Even if you purchased the same pump made on the same day and the tanks were exactly the same and sitting next to each other eventually one would get lower and the other would over flow.

You can get a hang on overflow, the only way you’re going to get water down to a sump without drilling.

you can make a siphon drain but make sure the intake is high enough so when the pump shuts off it doesn’t make the sump overflow. My first tank many years ago I made a DIY drain that stayed in place by just the U piping that make it work.

They also have hang on back overflows you can just buy that have bulkheads already like the esshops one.
