I thought I'd share a couple of pics of my new rhinopias in my QT. It looks like a sea monster guarding the pirate ship.

Still trying to decide what to name him. He's super chill and not spooked by anything. He also ate a packaged silverside within 18 hours of arrival.

Thinking about:
Rick Ross, because he's boss
Honey Badger, because he just doesn't give a sh**
Billy, because he's Billy Bad A**

Any votes?

Rick Ross, The Boss, is doing great.

My main tank has been cycled for about a week and cared for by 3 chromis since then. Rick has been perfect in the QT, so I decided to give him a nice substrate and more room and move him to the DT.

I expect he will pick off the chromis over time, but if they stay at the top, they might make it. I'll continue to feed him nutrified silversides every 2-3 days to keep his appetite low.

Oh my word, they're beautiful!

I love your new site design! I was just reading up on a good tank mate for Rick and I'm thinking a fuzzy dwarf would be good next, then eventually a yellow rhinopias frondosa. What a fun trio that would be!

That's so nice of you to say!

You'll have to be a little careful of a fuzzy size with a rhino. A medium bodied lion would be better, like an adult mombasae.

Do you have more pictures? It's a gorgeous beast!

I don't. I'll continue to take pics as my tank develops.

You don't think an adult Fuzzy would be appropriately sized? I know a baby would be too small. I'm actually concerned about a medium sized lionfish being so big that it limits my other fish more than the Rhinopias will.

I received a harlequin tusk yesterday that's every bit of 6". I will receive a 5-6" Red Coris Wrasse tomorrow. Those will go through QT together over the next month, before being added to the DT with Rick.

Agreed, those new pics are awesome. Is it weird the first thing that popped into my head was "what a hottie"? It's gotta be because he is "hot" pink, right? Lol:)

I wonder if he'll change colors. One of our Eschys would change daily, so it was like a new fish everyday. I see some yellow undertones in the pink, so I predict he'll change some.... only a prediction, not fact. :-)

In person, he's super purple. With the Real Reef rock, I expect he'll keep his color. It does change from straight purple to electric purple, like the pics, each day.

Mine didn't change until about 6 months in. It was amazing.
