Recently my wife mentioned that our water bill had suddenly gone up by 20%, with no rate increase. It has been the same $40 for almost 15 years.
So I checked the usual places around the house for wet spots, found none, so I thought I'd look at the ro/di unit ( BRS) and could hear water running even though it was off. Pulled the waste line out of the washer drain and sure enough there was water coming out at a pretty good rate.
I usually leave the valve on the water supply to the ro/di unit open. It keeps my water top-off container full.
I remember a similar question by someone, but don't remember the answer.
What would be the fix?
