RO/DI unite question

So after two weeks of waiting i got my unite today hooked it up and all and have a few quick questions.

- When i unplug it from the hose and bring it inside thats fine right? Just leave it filled dont empty anything and wait till next use right?

- Lastly how much do you think this will raise my water bill, I notices a ton of water being thrown away then read the manual and it was like 1/5 to 1/6 of the water that goes in becomes wast water. I will only be using it for roughly 25G a week.

You must keep the ro membrane wet when not in use. Most units are a 4/1 ratio, depending on water temp and preassure. RO membranes are rated at 60psi at 77*F anything less will lower production water and raise waste water. I have an adjustable valve on my waste line and have it for a 4/1 ratio besides the internal one that comes with the unit. Got it at BRS.
