What are the differences between these two units? I know one has the DI part but why would they still cost the same?

you don't HAVE to have a dual DI filter to achieve 0 TDS. The standard 4 stage will be perfectly fine. IF you want to increase production and reduce waste you need to purchase a second RO filter.

just to give you an idea not to recommend any particular brand or system I run the spectra pure myself. When running the extra RO filter your will burn through your DI filter quicker as the second RO filter will put out higher TDS because it filters the waste from the first one. Just do your research and find a unit that suits your particular needs and wants
