I got the original adult group in direct from Florida, I'm buying for breeding purposes so I won't justify paying the retail prices that are charged :)

Ooohhh I'm jealous. I love rock flowers. Are there any vendors in particular that you have purchased from that you would recommend? Aside from getting them directly of course ;). I'm really thinking about getting the 5 pack from VIP reef in Florida, but I don't know much about them.

Well if you do buy from VIP let me know what you think of them and their quality. Might help my decision ;).

It's about time for an update.

I counted 25 this morning, so anywhere from 2-3 new babies since last time. They're growing quite fast now, as you'll see a lot of them are significantly larger than last update. They're being fed every other night, and aren't eating small micron GP's anymore. They're fed 2-300 and 5-800 micron golden pearls, which if you don't use as part of your mix to feed corals I highly recommend doing so. I've got plenty of pictures from this morning, and I ask that you please forgive how many Aptasia are in this system, I've been holding a group of sea fans in there for a friend and they get fed 5 times per day, so it's impossible to control them for now with the amount of particulate foods being fed. That's mostly due to the fact of I can't add anything (aside from Berghia) to eat them because they'd eat the rock nems as well.

Anyway, here's some pictures. Enjoy.

Nice. You can really start to see the color in photos now.

It took forever for colors to come in, now that it can clearly be seen I think there will be some cool one's. I understand that color itself is completely random, but I think it still relies a little on the adults in how vibrant they are.

I was thinking maybe during their growth period your anemone formed a bid which has developed itself into a new anemone

They don't reproduce that way, it'd be nice if they did, propagating them would be easier. But pedal laceration and budding doesn't work with them.

It would be really, really nice to write a summary of what has been observed and done to this point from you guys and gal(s) who are raising them. What filtration, flow, lighting, food, water changes, etc......so those who are thinking of breeding them may have a quick reference, what to do and not do....things like that. Would a sponge filter be better for filtration /aeration, is a substrate needed/when......, does golden pearls, oyster feast, phyto, other seem to improve growth,....... If more people can breed, they can follow your leads or perhaps try other things that have not been done. Sustainability is what many focus on with all the coral bleaching, hurricanes, etc that are destroying the reefs. There is just so little information available on this with rock flowers. What do you think? Thank you!

Mine were grown in small tanks. AIO tank filtration with pads. One has a skimmer, one doesn’t. One is T5 one is led. Feeding is sparse cause only 1 fish per tank and those fish eat pods. Water quality is low nutrients and when they made babies no dosing or anything other than biweekly WC. I only had a few so I am sure this is the least helpful but it goes to show they can pop up anywhere.
