Is there anyway to break up live rock to use as rock rubble? Or should I just go at it with a hammer?

When I need rubble, I use a pair of large pliers and a screw driver. Break off pieces and pry it to get it to crack along natural "faults" (so to speak lol). Results in less dust and tiny pieces. Is there anyway to break up live rock to use as rock rubble? Or should I just go at it with a hammer?
+1I'd personally use a hammer and chisel.
