So I had to rip apart my tank to get a grouper out. Obviously no one can ever get the rocks exactly how they were before…

So I just kinda built to see what happened.

Anyone have critiques? Im thinking of pulling the arches in the middle to make two islands and taking that random small arch off the left side.

Anyone got any ideas how to make it look nice and not like a pile of rocks??

Can you work with pictures of what you had ? It won’t be the same but it could be similar.
Yeah I tried that, but I cant really figure out how the branches laid and what sides they were on, thats what really messed the scape up

I like the two islands idea but not sure how I feel about the branch rock as pillars to support regular rock. I was thinking the branch rock would be better as branches on top of the islands with perhaps a branch bridge between them? Maybe looks better in my head though. lol

Yeah thats not a bad idea, the only issue is those branches are actually the largest pieces in the tank and really heavy, I couldnt balance them well and they kept falling, the ledges are helping stabilize them

Maybe you could add the branches and rocks on half a side of the tank? The other side will be a little more empty, but I am sure that it would look good since it is a long tank

It would look a little similar to freshwater tanks with an arch of wood on side of the tank leading the other side with stones

Besides that, i believe that the other options you really have are really just moving a few fish out and rebuilding the aquascape which does sound like a pain

Yeah, I want to have good overhands for the tangs to swim in and out of since my tank is going to be tang dominate vs a predator tank. The only predators Ill have are my morays

If that's the case, then you can add the rocks on one side of the tank for the eels to hang out in, and the branches on the other side or maybe a little combination of both?

I like the idea of branches being used as supports, I’d must shore them up at the base with some other rocks to prevent movement.

Personally, I think it would look best if you had a more shelf-oriented scape with overhangs and rock work that the eels can poke their heads out of. You can create swim throughs with the branches and shelf rock as well to keep with the shelf theme

It would probably look a lot better if you just made it into a pile of rocks. lol
This looks like you tried way too hard and second it looks like an avalanche risk.
Mixing branch and large pieces can be a bizzatch.

Yeah I for sure did try way to hard. The middle is supported by the overflow but it just looks not good and like they fell
