Hoping to get some insight into what is happening to my hammer. Admittedly my husbandry has not been great over the last few months.
Several of its heads are losing color and retracting. There does appear to be something other than new heads sprouting up on the skeleton.
The hammer was grown from the crater of a failed frag. What I mean is that, I had a frag originally where this colony is growing..it didn’t do well and looked dead so I popped it off the rock and forgot about it. Months later this colony began growing like a phoenix rising from the ashes of the now long gone frag.
Anyway, I’d really like to see this hammer recover since it has a neat story in my tank.
What am I dealing with? Goby irritating it? Flatworms? I’m not too worried about water parameters because half the coral and the rest of the tank seem content.
Thanks in advance,
