Can someone explain how my rollermat is causing stray current? It was no wires that touch the water

Title should say stray*
If there are no wires touching the water then I doubt it’s the roller mat.. what other electronic equipment is in the water? Maybe start there. Unplug 1 thing at a time and test until you find the stray current.

There may not be any wires in the water/tank, however, the entire unit sits in water. Do you have a voltmeter?

100% the rollermat. Nothing in the tank is on. I plug in the rollermat and get zapped
Even though nothing is "on", it is still charged with electricity. Have you unplugged everything except the roller mat?

Then there is a short somewhere. If you have a multimeter you can try to locate it. Have you contacted customer support from where you purchased it? I'd give them a call and see if they can rectify the situation or offer a solution.
