RoundUp replacement?

What are you trying to kill, grasses or broadleaf weeds? Round up is honestly safer because it has no soil activity. Black plastic or the rosette torch you put on a propane tank for organic methods.

For weed, sodium hydroxide, works wonders, baked baking soda should too
One time bought pallet full 50# bags of sodium hydroxide, came out to $1 a lb, only used 2 bags, rest stayed at vendor.

I use to buy RoundUp Concentrate when it was somewhere in the area of $120 a gallon. Once it went off patent, I now use THIS STUFF from Amazon (for $20) which is the same, with the exception....and this is a guess...it doesn't have the magnesium part....that causes the weeds to wilt within a day....just for effect. This stuff kills the same, but it might take two or three days before you see it wilt.

Lol, the torch should be safest replacement for "first leaves" seedlings.

Have lots of trees. Dont want to damage the soil, trees, shrubs.

Lol, no more basket grass after the seedlings are dead.

RoundUp was the awesome goto product! It was just about perfect.

Now it may cause non hodgkin's lymphoma. :-(

One of the main uses will be on a "dry laid" cobble patio.

I have a "weed knife". Awesome product for some applications!

Um, hopefully *not* for the entire 29' round cobble patio and 30' of 5' wide walkways.

I spray 1200 acres of corn and soybeans w/ roundup and still smoke. I'm immune to all of that b/c I'm a farmer. My ancestors were exposed to much more harsh chemicals than a translocating salt. My next weed weapon is dicamba, don't even look that up. I can nuke your whole yard with air currents alone. In New York, I have to have a license and be educated on proper use, just like a hair stylist in my state.

The torch and grill tank will be fine. The organic farmers around me use tractor pulled models at night so they can see when a burner goes out. It's a sight to see that rolling across a field.

Yeah, I miss chlordane around the perimeter of the house.

I'm working on cutting out the tobacco. We now have 3 different weeds that are immune to Rup. The chemists are busy trying to out compete mother nature. Amazing what a plant can do to keep making seeds for the next generation. What ever you use, get the weeds young and kill them dead, or in 50 years we'll have stuff resistant to an open flame if that is your course lol.

The glyphosate war has been ongoing since I got in the industry in 98. The number one issue is it should be a RUP product. Since it is not it is repackaged in different AI amounts for home owners to purchase and misuse. Anyone seen there neighbor use PPE? Most people have worst products in their cleaning cabinets at home. It's funny as my occupation does not carry over to home use. I do not use any processed macro, micro, or pesticides at home in the lawn or even in my gardens. That's because my AIL is high. Someone mentioned dicambia and they were correct that the LD50 is much greater. The toxicity of glyphosate is no higher than a majority of other products but they are not as popular and widely used.

I'm not into the manual labor anymore. I save my energy up for bedtime. These work as long as the weeds are seedlings and you move quickly next to the plants you want to keep.

Love that idea cause the wife keeps three bee hives as a hobby. How much is the set up and how big of a tank does it take?

Its $20 from harbor freight and hooks up to a 20lb propane grill size tank.

i’ve heard of using vinegar to kill weeds (albeit repeat applications may be needed).
