Parameters are great, this guys never stressed out, but lately he's been acting weird. I was able to snatch him with a net and he has a brown line on him. I hear these guys don't live very long, only about 2-4 years. Mine is about two years old from the time I bought it. Any ideas?

He's also been in hiding for the past couple weeks. Today I started a api general cure treatment for my display tank (fowlr) and suddenly I see him swimming around... Barely. Maybe coincidental but if it's a parasite maybe the general cure will save him.

Ok, thanks for the info. Unfortunate, but at least it's not like velvet or something like that

That fish is very thin, that could have led to its demise as well. When did it stop eating?

Also, how boisterous is your tank environment? Grammas can be fairly jittery about what other fish _might_ do to them, and will kind of go into panic mode - and downhill from there.

So it's hard to tell, ever since I've had him he'd go into hiding for sometimes a month, come out for a few days then back to hiding again. The last time I saw him in good condition was about a month ago

I have a very community type tank. The only fish that sometimes go after each other are my tangs, and it's only for a moment. Tank, for its size is low-medium stocked

The belly looks sunk in to me, does your fish eat? if your fish is eating then I would try to bind General Cure with Seachems Focus and feed this to get (the possible) internal parasites out of your fish.

cheers

I am currently treating for parasites.. So it's very possible that's what it's dying from. Looking like it's losing the fight...
