"It was basically rubber thick hose with your metal hose clamps on each end." Yep, that's what I'm using.
"A zip tie tensioning tool is a nice..." Just ordered but don't know if I'll be able to use it in place due to space restrictions.
"You can get titanium clamps" Very true and a good idea! But with 6 couplers I would need 12 clamps. At around $7.00 a pop, it's just a lot cheaper to use a couple of heavy duty zip ties on each end (rotated 180 degrees from each other). I've used this method a few times before which has worked out fine. (Of course now that I have typed that I have probably jinxed myself again, ;Facepalm, in which case you win.;))
I actually lucked out when this happened. Looking back on my sump cam I found that the hose clamp popped off right when we walked back into the house so I didn't lose much water. But of course what did spray out just happened to arch up and over for a direct shot at the power bar extension cord I'm temporarily using due to a burnt out EB832. Aaaarrgh. Okay life, what have you got in store for me today?
