Run Time and schedules

How long should we be running lights on our reefs and with that question is it necessary to have the different led color channels coming on and going off at different times during the day like I see some people having setup? Is it ok to just run the full setup all day? Oviously with each channel tuned properly.

Full spectrum plain on and off is perfectly fine. 8 hours is a comfortable number
