Curious if there are many runners out there? My wife loves to run. I like the benefits of running, but don’t love running in and of itself...lol

At any rate, went for a run this morning as the snow started coating the ground. It was a beautiful run through town (good for the soul).

It’s been a few years of not running, so I am just getting back into a rhythm. I am back to running 3 or 4 times per week (each run 3 or 4 miles).

Wish I got back into running. I was running before COVID a mile a day but got caught up with school and well... COVID so my routine slowly fell apart

I've been a fairly consistent runner for the past couple of years. 3-5 times a week, around 25 miles total. I never really got the "runnng thing" until I started running trails, before that it always seemed like a bit of a chore. Trail running is great though, out in nature, the path and your stride an rhythm are always changing. Definitely good for the soul (and mind and heart.)

Sounds like you had a good routine going. It’s a great time to restart

I never got into trail running, but it might be worth a try. I agree about the chore part. I have tried to change my perspective on this by listening to music while I run, and just get out of the house and clear my mind.

Used to do 5-6 miles a day in my mid 20's. Got my rest pulse down to 38 bpm. I miss those days.

Nagging bursitis in my left hip (shattered that femur when I was a kid doing stupid stuff) made me stop. Just can't handle the impact anymore. I miss running...badly.

Nice! That’s a lot of miles in a week!

I have a few friends who can’t run anymore (due to a variety of injuries) and they have turned to bicycling. My kids are older now and we are thinking of doing some of this as a family.

Getting older is a heck of a thing - when I run now, it seems like it is always something bothering me.

I was running 4 to 5 miles 2 nights a week and then a 10+ mile run on Saturdays prior to catching COVID just before Thanksgiving. Now running 4 miles feels like a daunting task but I'm making progress. An exercise bike has been very helpful, too. For an extremely mild case of COVID the long term lung issues have been very frustrating.
My first official half marathon was supposed to be in 2 weeks, but I've obviously had to cancel that.
