Hi There,

I am running 2 x 250 watt Radium Metal Halides with no supplementation. What would be better for coral pop/color?

1. 2 x UV + 2 x Blue Plus

-or-

2. 4 x Blue Plus

I couldn’t be more impressed with the blue plus bars, they blew me away. I’d say they provide so much pop and fluorescence that I couldn’t imagine needing the UV. To see one bar bring out so much color over 6 Radion G4 pros was impressive. Obviously not as much par but they gave me that look I always wanted from my Radions.

This is great feedback, thank you. What is your main lighting source?

running 6 Radion XR30 pro across two 48 inch aquatic life hybrid units. Each unit houses 4 additional 48” T5 ATI blue plus bulbs (8 total). My tank is in wall so I was able to mount two Oprhek 48inch blue plus bars near the surface against my wall aiming down the front of my tank. Here is a picture of when I mounted the first one. Even with those hybrids the colonies were shading corals I wanted to put lower in the front near sand bed so these light bars give me much needed extra par to grow sps lower.

I use one UV and one Blue in addition to two Reef Brite Actinic Pro bars over my 46 bow front. Added the Orpheks to replace a two bulb T5 fixture and everything is doing great.
