Thanks! I took the week off (kids spring break) so using my time off to git-r-dun!You are making good progress!
Nice! My tank is arriving Sat and I'm going to take several days off next week to work on mine as well. I can't take Monday off and Tuesday I might have to work as well. Otherwise I was planning to take the whole week off. My son will be in school and the wife has to work, so I'll have pretty much all day uninterrupted to work on it.Thanks! Thanks! Your build looks fantastic! You are making great progress.Looking nice so far! I just finished building the frame of my stand this morning.
Thanks! I still have several details to add. I am using popular wood...cabinets are oak. The final pretty part of the stand is the hardest to nail down, imo. I am happy in the direction I'm going so far....next is color decision!I'm really liking the wrap you are putting on the stand. What type of wood are you using for it? I still only have a vague idea of what I am going to be doing for my wrap. I really need to nail that part down.
I'll be using Baltic birch to skin mine. It is cabinet grade plywood that has no voids in it. You can easily route the edges it is so well made. It does cost a lot more and only comes in 5'x5' sheets though.
On your trip at the top of the stand, is that an "outside corner" piece that covers lower frame of the tank? Do you have a closer pic of that piece that you could share?
