Amazon, Multi-Timer, $20, can be programmed to the second.
Mine turns on every 2 hours, for 60 seconds, hasn’t missed a beat.
Practically anything can be automated in terms of “on” “off”
Along with ATO sensors, cannot fail.

This makes allot of sense, and is a great idea.

It would also make dosing kalk with an ato or non stirer setup super simple

According to the bellow attachments, the pump will run for 10 minutes and then sound an alarm if the requested level is not met...otherwise normal runtime is 15 seconds...

Just passing through the thread. I know Tunze makes outstanding products and thousands of hobbyists use them from skimmers to ATO products.

I would reach out to Tunze for some help:

With that said and I don't have any invested interest in this company, but i've used their auto top off units for decades with no problems:

Yeah something is off here.
Even if you got a timer, slowed down the pump, you've still got a mystery ato.
Call Tunze.

.....and this is why for 17yrs ive had a 15gal container feeding my non-electronic totally-manual-gravity-fed float valve for my 240gal total water volume.

If 15gals BAM! floods my system.. no big deal. Its 15gals of RO into 240.....6%

I have to top off my 15gal container from my 55gal reservoir 1x maybe 2x a week.

Oooooh the manual labor involved is killing me by opening a ball valve ;Wacky
