Is it okay to lower my salinity level while treating with Copper Power, or should I keep it at 1.023?

I’m not an expert, but I’ve heard that hyposalinity (low salinity) helps when treating fish. That being said, I treated a powder brown tang in copper and low salinity. He did great...until I put him back in the display.:(

Oh no...I’m doing the same but treating in my display tank since I don’t have any other fish in there.

From a previous post by Humblefish:

"However, I wouldn't dose copper + metro until you hit at least 1.017-18 SG. Both are more toxic in lower salinity. Actually, I think it's the lower pH normally associated with hyposalinity that's the real problem with copper toxicity."

I’m at 1.014 and just noticed the thing constantly shoving it’s sides into the ground...he was doing great until two days following the water change
